I think I join all New Democrats in opposing this was and in being more than disappointed in Carney’s endorsement of it.

The issue with the war, though, is not that it is ‘illegal’, it is that it is wrong.

Specifically: even if the war were justified (and there is a strong argument to make that it is not) the prosecution of this war in this way is very unlikely to satisfy any political objectives. It is far more likely to make a bad situation worse. And it will do so in a way that inflicts suffering on millions of people.

This is what the NDP should be saying today.
